The secret trick I use to find flights to Europe
I know trying to use your points can feel stressful.
There’s the question of whether or not you’re getting enough value from your points — or if there is some redemption on the horizon that could be even better.
For many of us, points feel like monopoly money or like some foreign currency that changes constantly.
Here’s the thing though — ultimately, the value of points isn’t fixed — it depends on how and where you’re willing to use them.
Read that again!
You can use the bank portal and get one cent per point — or wait for a redemption worth double (or more).
Here is a post where I talk about how to value points in case you haven’t seen it or need a refresher.
When we look for hotels on points, it’s pretty straightforward.
There is one bank (plus Bilt) that transfers to my favorite hotel program for booking with points. That takes the guesswork out of it and saves me a lot of time since I know that it’s unlikely I’ll get such great deals from any other combo of cards and hotel brands.
But what about flights?
There are so many different airlines — and different combinations, many people get overwhelmed so quickly (understandably) and end up either not using their points or wasting them in the bank portal.
One way to streamline some of the search is to focus on “sweet spots”. A sweet spot is when you’re getting outsized value from your points. Where the cash price is way higher than the points you’re using. Like a $2,000 hotel night for 45K points — that’s a sweet spot.
There is one airline that has incredible point fares to Europe. But finding those fares can be tricky!
Here’s the one trick I use to find the flights. It is free to use, and can save you a lot of time… and I’ll share the point rates you’re looking for when booking these flights to Europe…
